Clean up songs for kids are my secret weapon for turning a mess into a work of progress. They’re absolutely some of the best songs for kids!
It takes no time at all for a nicely organized room to become a mess. Especially when little ones are involved.
When it comes to clean up time, I involve little hands as much as possible. They are learning important life skills when they help out. Plus, they are becoming more responsible at the same time. That’s a win-win!
At home this can be reinforced with chores and in the classroom, classroom jobs are a perfect solution.
But cleaning up isn’t always so easy when you’re trying to get kids used to it at first. It takes a lot of practice, support, and some positive reinforcement.
That’s where clean up songs come along. They are the perfect remedy for turning tasks into fun.
It’s amazing to me how cleaning up can feel like pulling teeth one moment, but the second the right song is on, it’s magically so easy for them to put the toys in their homes.
How to Stream Clean Up Songs in the Classroom or at Home
We love to stream clean up songs on our Amazon Alexa or Echo. That’s our favorite way to stream music. You could do it from your phone or any other device too.
If you want to get songs without the ads from YouTube, there are a couple of simple solutions. You can click the songs directly from this post, and it should take away most of the ads. Screen it first to make sure it works for your needs.
If you are using just audio, I have Amazon Music Unlimited which isn’t free but well worth it for me because we use it each day between the classroom and home. If you would want to download more than 10 songs a month, it’s worth its weight in gold! It’s compatible with your phone, electronic devices, Alexa, and computer. What’s great is that I can download the songs while I’m home on my phone using wifi with the Amazon Music app. Then the songs are always there on my phone, and I can play them in the classroom, the car, or anywhere else.
There is also a 2 million song music library with Amazon Prime. That’s how I started, but then I eventually switched to Amazon Music Unlimited because it has nearly every song.
Have the perfect song at your fingertips whenever you need it! Grab our free printable below of some of the best kids’ songs.
Clean Up Songs for Kids
Here are our favorite clean up songs for toddlers, clean up songs for kids, and even clean up songs for the adults around too.
The Clean Up Medley by Miss Nina
Adorable Miss Nina takes some of our favorite cleaning songs and puts them together in a fun medley! The best part is the beginning of the song, when she provides a warning transition into the cleaning time. Giving a heads-up before cleaning, or any transition time, can greatly decrease resistance since it lets the kids know what to expect next!
The Clean Up Song by Singing with Shari
A fun clean up song for kids that you’ll probably already recognize! If you don’t know it already, you will by the end of the song – which is a good thing! Repetition helps kids remember the song more easily. This clean up song is perfect to have on in the background when it’s time to tidy up.
Clean Up is Fun by The Learning Station
A soothing clean up song from one of our favorites, The Learning Station. The song gives some specific instructions, like putting the books up on the shelf and the toys away, which are probably applicable to most clean up jobs! But if not, you can always change the lyrics or give specific instructions before you start the song.
It’s Time to Clean Up! by Harry Kindergarten Music
This song is a little shorter, so it’s great for those times when the clean up job won’t take long! It would also lend itself well to be played on repeat, if the job needs a little more time.
Tidy Up Rhumba by Musical Playground
If you’re looking for a way to make clean up fun, look no further! Your kids will be shaking and dancing all over the room while they tidy!
Clean Up Song for Children by ELF Learning
This cute song is a great clean up song for preschool! It’s really simple and easy for kids to learn and sing while they pick up.
Clean Up Song by The Singing Walrus
I especially love this song for its call and response aspect. The adult sings specific instructions, and the kids respond “it’s time to clean up!” or “time to tidy up!” Easy to learn and great to keep them engaged and listening while cleaning.
Clean Up Songs Medley by JBrary
We love Jbrary’s fingerplays, and now they have a fun clean up medley of songs! It’s one of the only places to find the traditional “clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere!” that we all know and love. This video is perfect to learn the words so that you will have the perfect song ready at any moment.
Clean up Vacuum Cleaner by Jack Hartmann
Oh, Jack Hartmann! We love you and all your quirky ways. He always finds a fun spin to put on everything! In this song kids pretend to be a clean up vacuum cleaner. They’ll love working together and being responsible to clean up.
Clean It Up by The Laurie Berkner Band
We love pretty much everything from Laurie Berkner! Her songs are always so kid-friendly and relatable without ever being too silly or slapstick. Her clean up song for kids doesn’t disappoint, and I love the little shout-out to recycling too!
Hopefully, these clean up songs will help make tidying up a bit more enjoyable.
