Are you looking for a simple Christmas decoration to make with your preschoolers? Every year, I love to have my students make an ornament for their tree. This Pom Pom Christmas Tree Ornament is always a hit! This holiday craft is easy to make with a classroom full of children, and it’s a keepsake their families love.

This Pom Pom Christmas Tree Ornament is a fun and simple gift that your students can make their families this holiday season.

How To Make A Pom Pom Christmas Tree Ornament:

Supplies:

  • Craft Sticks
  • Green Paint
  • Green Pom Poms
  • Yellow Pom Pom
  • Glue
  • Ribbon or Yarn
  • Brown Card Stock
  • Scissors

Christmas themed craft

One of my favorite things about this Christmas craft is that it is inexpensive to make. If you don’t already have the supplies in your classroom, you can find everything you need at the Dollar Store.

Directions:

To begin making this Christmas ornament, glue the ends of the craft sticks together to form a triangle. I like to use green craft sticks or paint the natural ones with green paint so if the pom poms don’t cover the entire triangle, it still looks like a tree.

After the glue dries, glue one yellow pom pom at one of the triangle points for the star.

Next, glue green pom poms around the rest of the triangle.

After the glue dries, cut a ribbon or piece of yarn that is about five inches long. Next, fold the ribbon over to form a loop and glue the end on the back of the craft sticks.

Finally, cut a small rectangle out of the brown card stock and glue it to the bottom of the triangle for the tree trunk.

You can also cut a triangle out of a piece of green card stock and glue it to the back of the triangle. Your students can add their picture, sequins, foam stickers, and other decorations.
