I’ve been working hard behind the scenes this year to bring this beautiful and charming animal book for preschoolers to life!

If you’ve been wanting a perfect alphabet book to use for back to school, this is it! Whether you need a book for circle time, for bedtime, or just for fun, hop on over to Amazon to pre-order it!

Wild Animal Babies: An Alphabet Book for Preschoolers and Kindergarteners

Journey through the wild animal alphabet and learn about different animal babies from all around the world! There is an animal baby for each letter of the alphabet with fun and exciting facts that kids will love learning about (and you will too!).

Animal Facts

Did you know jackrabbits use their jumbo-sized ears to cool off in the hot desert? Or that rhinoceros calves roll in the mud to protect their skin?

The book will introduce you to some of the best dads in the animal kingdom. The emu dad is the sole caretaker of his chicks and goes weeks without eating while he guards the eggs.

Plus, find out why the narwhal is called the “unicorn of the sea.”

Vocabulary Words

While you’re reading the book, there are vocabulary words to introduce to your child or class.

Talk about what it means when an animal is camouflaged and when they are in danger. The baby tapir calf is camouflaged with stripes that look similar to a watermelon. But when they grow up, they look more like an Oreo.

Explain what it means when an egg is incubated and read about the different types of birds in the book who do this.

Learn about which animals live in an underground home called a burrow, a den, or in a snow cave.

Animal Names

Animal names are so fun to learn about. Find out which baby is called a leveret and which ones are called kids.

Some animal babies are even called infants!

Read about the animals who live in a group called a mob.

Did you know that when giraffes are standing still in a group that they are called a tower?

Geography for Kids

Wild Animal Babies features animals all around the world.

Learn about the fossa who lives in Madagascar or the adorable kinkajou from Central and South America.

See which animal roams the European Alps or who swims under the ice in the Arctic waters.

Gorgeous Illustrations

The illustrator, Julie Mellan, is a very talented artist from France. She is known for her hand-drawn and watercolor art techniques and makes absolutely enchanting animal images. She has brought the sweet animal babies and their parents to life in Wild Animal Babies and will have you oohing and ahhing over them!

This is a very suitable book for preschool children, not boring, easy to stimulate the baby’s interest in learning
