Candy games are some of my favorites, and this one is a conversation candy heart color matching busy bag. At first I thought of making it a little complex, but then that went out the window. Simplicity is really my specialty because I’m not loaded with time, and I know that neither are you.

All you need for this Valentine’s Day busy bag is a box or two of conversation hearts and some sort of divider. The divider is honestly optional. You could do without it if you really wanted to. I found ours at the dollar store, and they are available at most grocery stores that I frequent.

We put all the conversation candy hearts in the middle of the dividing tray, and I let Sugar and Spice (5 years old here) work her magic. I didn’t even have to tell her to divide the hearts by color. She just naturally started doing it…although that was my intention for this busy bag. I’m a sneaky teacher-mom after all.

Our two boxes were different brands, which meant that we had some different shades among the colors. I actually really liked that aspect because it shows the child’s ability to sort variations of colors.

Did I get you into the Valentine’s Day spirit? I hope so because here are some more amazing V-Day Busy Bags.

Hehehe, I do give them some to eat beforehand and afterward. Otherwise, it would be the same here!

Wow – how did you manage not to eat all of the Love Hearts during the activity. I would be busy munching away – sweet tooth!

They are so tempting for sure! We brought out the boxes from last year that I saved, so when I said that they were old and stale, the appeal went down drastically :).
