Combine recycled eggs with shaving cream to make this fun cute ghost sensory smash game!

The past few years around Halloween my girls have enjoyed throwing and Smoking Boo Bombs and watching them explode all over.  You can find all of the directions to making Smoking Boo Bombs on Growing a Jeweled Rose. This year I wanted to put a twist on things.  So we filled some eggs with shaving cream! It was a perfect sensory activity that was tons of fun.

A little goes a long way since this is nice and thick, and kids love throwing these and watching them splat. It’s fun combined with gross motor practice and sensory exploration.

Here’s how you can make your own:

Materials:

  • Emptied egg shells
  • Shaving cream
  • Glue
  • Tissue paper
  • Permanent Marker
  • Scissors

Directions:

Clean out the eggs and rinse them with bleach water. There are more detailed instructions about opening the eggs in the Smoking Boo Bombs tutorial listed above.

Next, I drew spooky faces on the eggs to give them a “ghosty” Halloween feel.

Remember when I said a little bit of shaving cream goes a long way!

After all the eggs were filled, I cut out squares of tissue paper big enough to cover the hole and glued them to the top of each egg.

Now for the fun part!  Take your ghost and your “ghostbusters” outside for a smashing good time.

After throwing them, they were super fun to smash!

Our favorite activities are the messy ones, especially when it involves an easy clean up!  The girls had so much fun we might be eating nothing but eggs for the next month!
