Inside: Analog watches for kids that are parent, teacher, and kid-approved.
As a veteran teacher and mom of three, finding high-quality watches that are kid-friendly and help children learn to tell time is always on my radar!

Kids learn about time on an analog clock around 6-8 years old while in school. If they’ve already been introduced to this, they are much more likely to be successful about understanding it and enjoying it. And a watch is a very meaningful way to start teaching children about time.
That’s why I’m excited that my favorite toddler and preschool watch creators, Preschool Collection, have now come up with some fantastic analog watches for kids too! Whether you’re looking for watches for 5-year-olds or watches for 9-year-olds, these are great for all ages.
This post is sponsored by Preschool Collection. All opinions are my own.
Analog Watches for Kids
Learning time is an abstract concept. We can’t touch it or stop it. That’s why time is such a tricky concept for kids.
This is also the first time that children learn to read in a circle, instead of just left to right. Reading a clock or a watch involves a certain level of decoding and mastery.
I applaud all the parents who are teaching children to learn time with analog clocks and watches. It is something that children should learn and takes patience and practice.
Your average analog watch is made with numbers and symbols in black. The information blends together until a child learns to master the many different skills in learning to tell time.
Time Teacher Watches
This is where my favorite preschool watch designer has reinvented how to teach children to understand time in an easy and brilliant way. By using a color-coded hour wheel, Preschool Collection makes learning to tell time smarter, not harder.
Each hour on their analog watches is color coded to help children learn to separate each hour in their mind. By giving that differentiation, it helps children quickly and easily sort out the different times of day. The second hand even has a star on it to help kids see the difference between the two hands and can follow the star around the circle in the correct direction. These simple techniques truly make teaching children about time so much simpler because it makes sense!
I also appreciate that these analog kid watches are high quality. They come with a comfortable hypoallergenic silicone strap. To top it off, we’re so impressed with how long the battery has lasted.
These watches are designed by a super smart mom who understands kids and the struggles of being a parent too. There are lots of great design choices to find a watch that your child will love!
